Good things come in fives.

Today’s post is courtesy of one of my four siblings. These guest dwarf hydrangeas are a recent addition to my sister Tricia’s new house. They’re in her garden, not mine.

When I started gardening, I got the advice to plant in odd numbers — three of something or five, etc. just look better. Good things come in fives — I already knew that as the oldest of five.

What I’m spying in Tricia’s pic of her lovely hydrangeas is 1) the very attractive slate walkway (Hmmm…. a fall project for Tolers Road?) and 2) that North Carolina pine straw is the bomb.

Here’s my Limelight with its many buds. It is, perhaps, a late bloomer? 😉
